This week, “The Making of a Criminal“: In the first installment of Kathleen Richards’ two-parter on youth crime, “System Failure,” we meet nineteen-year-old Cyrioco Robinson, a bright, good-looking, charismatic young man who’s nevertheless headed down the permanent jailhouse road. As Richards explains, “By his own account, it’s hard to say exactly where Cyrioco’s childhood ended and his criminal life began.” Suffice to say, juvie hall became his home away from home, a refuge from the streets. At each step, it gets harder to find his way back. And did we mention he’s about to become a father?
