You May Finally Have to Get a FasTrak Transponder

All those years of whizzing through the Bay Area's toll booths without paying may finally catch up with people now that the Bay Area Toll Authority is vowing to crack down on FasTrak scofflaws. Conceding that it got fleeced out of $31.4 million in unpaid bridge tolls last fiscal year, the agency has pledged to crack down on the behavior, the Chronicle reports. The big question is whether drivers will fear a crackdown from an agency that admits that it allowed one driver to not pay tolls some 637 times.
