X kicked off the punk revolution in Los Angeles with its aggressive punk meets rockabilly sensibility and lyrics that blasted holes in the social and political fabric of the country. Bass player John Doe and poet Exene Cervenka fronted the band with their dissonant harmonies and an in-your-face stage presence that was perfect for the times. Unhappily, their dystopian view of the class and racial divide that separates the people of America remains relevant today. The band’s original guitarist, Billy Zoom and original drummer, DJ Bonebrake complete the crew on this reunion tour. The opening act, Los Straightjackets, have been thrilling audiences with their pedal-to-the metal instrumental prowess since the early ’90s, with its ornate Mexican Wrestling masks adding a complimentary visual element.
