When: Sun., Dec. 17, 10 a.m. 2017
Between the locally made honey, chocolates, and crafts, farmers’ markets have grown into great spots to hunt down last-minute holiday gifts. The biggest of them all will likely be the Winter Festival taking over the Jack London Square market, which is also the final market of 2017. In addition to the district’s imposing Christmas tree adding festive cheer, the market will feature holiday specials, family activities, and seasonally appropriate cooking demos. At noon, Gloria Polo of Project Pride at East Bay Community Recovery Project will share samples and recipes for all. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., kids will have the opportunity to decorate tote bags, which would make for useful presents for family members. During the same time frame, folks can learn how to make citrus salts for gifts as well. A slew of vendors, including Tamales La Oaxaqueña, will pop-up for the occasion, too.
