According to the Daily Cal, state Senate candidate Wilma Chan has decided not to go along with a promise not to spend more than $724,000 to get herself elected. Candidates around the East Bay have pledged to adhere to the spending limit, but Chan has decided the sky’s the limit, a decision her rival Loni Hancock’s campagin called “unfortunate.” Now that Chan’s going to be a high roller, election officials have punished her by refusing to print her candidate statement on sample ballots distributed to East Bay voters.
