Willow Willow

When: Thu., Dec. 13, 9:30 p.m. 2007

Pseudo-sisters born four months apart in Albany and songwriting partners since grammar school, Jessica Vohs and Miranda Zeiger are still inseparable more than twenty years later. As Willow Willow, the duo plays sunny '60s folk, not the least bit compelled to get all freaky like so many of their fellow urban folk revivalists. Except, perhaps, with the harpsichord-heavy marijuana homage "Lovely Hours" (pining for the "days of plentiful weed") -- though this could be equally sincere.Oakland's seriously psychedelic Mushroom, performing with Blue Note Records trumpeter Eddie Gale, and San Francisco-based singer-songwriter Emily Jane White, open the show at the Starry Plough on Thursday, Dec. 13. 9:30 p.m., $7.
