Hajime Jimmy Beppu unemployed recent immigrant from Japan, confirmed nerd, and divorcee still hung up on his wife shares a Salt Lake City bunk-bed room with his young nephew, at his sisters home, while pondering his next move. Actor Hiroshi Watanabe takes the character of Jimmy and stumbles amiably with it through familiar confidence-building situations, in director David Boyles comic Asian-American version of The Forty-Year-Old Virgin. Its funny enough for light multiplex date-night use, although Jimmy may cause exasperation overload. Costarring Nae and Mio Takada, with a screenplay by Boyle and Joel Clark (83 min.).
