So there’s this stupid government policy, but protesting it would make the problem worse. So no one is going to protest it. Got it? That’s the gist of the Oakland Tribune‘s story about gay men who aren’t going to demonstrate against the government’s policy prohibiting sexually active gay men from giving blood. Hey, we kid ’cause we love. Actually, the story identifies an exquisite dilemma: gay UC Berkeley students are understandably upset that the government still treats them like lepers, but disrupting blood drives hurts everyone. So whaddya gonna do? Write your congressman or something?
