When: May 15-22 2017
The Crucible is the only place where kids can explore such a large variety of arts—blacksmithing, glass blowing, ceramics, jewelry, welding, robotics, and more—all under one roof. Weeklong youth camps, for ages 8-18, make imaginations soar while teaching skills and concepts that overlap science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Young artists get hands-on learning in the industrial arts, experiment with different media and techniques, and connect with creative mentors and new friends.
Campers design and make their own works of art, including welded sculpture, leather bags, clay animals, glass mosaics, hand-built skateboards, remote-controlled gizmos, and lit neon signs. Each week ends with a gallery walk where students proudly share their creations.
