When: Sat., April 28, 5:30 p.m. 2018
The Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive’s Way Bay exhibition is an eclectic collection of almost 200 artworks that relate to the Bay Area, whether they are by local artists or feature the region as a subject. Along with art, film, poetry, and archival materials, Way Bay is accompanied by a series of live performances. Next up on the museum’s calendar is the Way Bay Vogue Ball, an epic gathering of the Bay Area’s drag and ballroom scene. Hosted by San Francisco vogue legend Sir JoQ, who teaches his own dance class called “Vogue and Tone,” and DJ Spiider, along with special guest Indigo Ebony, this lively celebration will also be a competition with cash prizes up for grabs. Categories are open to all and include Realness (come in a Warriors-themed outfit), Face (paint your face red and gold for the 49ers or black and silver for the Raiders), Runway (wear denim and black), and Performance (dress in Giants or A’s colors). Come out and slay the Bay.
