Voices of Light/The Passion of Joan of Arc: An Oratorio w/ Silent Film

As part of its Carl Theodor Dreyer film series, the Pacific Film Archive teams up with the Paramount Theatre and the Silent Film Festival to present Voices Of Light/The Passion Of Joan Of Arc. The evening combines a performance of Richard Einhorn's choral and orchestral work, Voices of Light (recorded by Anonymous 4), with a showing of Dreyer's 1928 silent film masterpiece, The Passion of Joan of Arc.Dr. Mark Sumner conducts the 200 combined members of the University of California Alumni Chorus, women of UC Berkeley's Perfect Fifth, and UC Men's and Women's Chorales; soloists Daniel Ebbers and Martin Bell; and a twenty-two piece orchestra.
