Tween Book Discussion Group

When: Sat., Dec. 18, 3 p.m. 2010

Part of a trilogy by Canadian fantasy novelist Kenneth Oppel, Silverwing is the story of a young bat that gets swept away from his family by strong winds during the annual migration to Hibernaculum. As he struggles to rejoin them, can he survive on his own? Silverwing is this month's topic of discussion for the Union City Library's (34007 Alvarado Niles Rd., Union City) Tween Book Discussion Group, which is open to all fifth- and sixth-graders and meets on Saturday, Dec. 18. 3 p.m., free.
