Tridentine Mass

When: Thu., Dec. 24, 10 a.m. 2009

For a really old-fashioned Christmas, on Thursday, Dec. 24 St. Margaret Mary's Church (1219 Excelsior Ave., Oakland) offers a Tridentine Mass, the only Mass that must be held in Latin. Largely abandoned after the widespread reforms of 1962's Second Vatican Council but not officially banned, the Tridentine Mass was already centuries old by the time it was codified by the Council of Trent in the 16th century. 10 a.m., free.
