Tracy Grammer

When: Sun., Nov. 15, 8 p.m. 2009

Tracy Grammer came to UC Berkeley to study English lit, but her interest in music soon took over her life. In 1996 she moved to Portland, met Dave Carter, and formed a musical partnership that produced three amazing albums before Carter died suddenly in 2002. Grammer has dedicated herself to keeping Carter's music alive; her performances showcase his tunes alongside her own finely crafted ones, delivered in her soothing, soulful alto. On Friday, April 25, at Freight & Salvage (1111 Addison St., Berkeley), she'll be joined by singer-songwriter and fellow multi-instrumentalist Jim Henry, playing songs from their new EP OneHorseTown. 8 p.m., $18.50, $19.50.
