Blues, Folk, & Country

Tom Russell, Jesse Winchester & Jimmy Webb

When: Sun., Jan. 16, 8 p.m. 2011

Tom Russell, Jesse Winchester, and Jimmy Webb cover the entire spectrum of American music from gritty Americana to hit pop tunes. Russell's songs of hard working blue collar folksmixrock, folk, and Tex-Mex into a compelling style all his own. Winchester's poetic folk tunes blend Gospel, blues, and country into a laid-back style marked by his smooth vocals and understated guitar virtuosity. Webb has penned blockbusters for Glen Campbell ("Wichita Lineman") and Richard Harris ("MacArthurPark"). For the past decade, he's been performing his own tunes and finally making a name for himself as a performer. They all appear at Freight & Salvage (2020 Addison St., Berkeley) Thursday Jan. 6, 8p.m. $32.50, $34.50. TheFreight.org
