This Friday: Oakland East Bay Symphony’s Season Finale features Bach Magnificat!

Fri., May 3 2013
Oakland East Bay Symphony’s final concert of the season features four great works that journey from the heights of heaven to the depths of hell. Bach’s Magnificat, one of the finest choral works ever written, is often performed on festive occasions.

In stark contrast is Franck’s The Accursed Huntsman, about a defiant hunter pursued by the hounds of hell. Recent Grammy nominee Terrence Wilson (pictured) makes his OEBS debut as piano soloist on Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto, and OEBS principal cellist Daniel Reiter premieres his new work, Mysterium.
