The Tommy Castro Band & the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue

When: Sat., Oct. 10, 8 p.m. 2009

Tommy Castro got his start in the Bay Area blues community in the late-1970s, and after impressing blues aficionados with his work in the Dynatones, launched his award-winning Tommy Castro Band. Castro's expansive sound includes R&B and rock influences that have made him a favorite of several generations of blues lovers. Castro's a fine singer and masterful songwriter and a favorite of B. B. King, who asked Castro to open for him on several recent tours. Last year he took home the Blues Music Award for Entertainer of the Year and he's in tip-top shape leading the Legendary R&B Review in the company of JanivaMagness, John Nemeth, and Joe Lewis Walker, another local favorite. Tommy Castro and the Legendary R&B Review come to the GreatAmericanMusic Hall (859 O'Farrell St., San Francisco) on Saturday, Oct. 10. 8 p.m., $17. GAMH.com
