So-so Argentine drama mixes political intrigue, a sex murder, and long-lost romance in the story of a Buenos Aires criminal court investigator (Ricardo Darín) digging up the goods on a 25-year-old rape/killing. Complicating things are an official cover-up (the chief suspect was a government death-squad hit man) and our man’s halting love affair with his superior, a judge played by Soledad Villamil. One or two good scenes, but hampered by writer-director Juan José Campanella’s unfocused narrative and too many flashbacks. Comedian Guillermo Francella does a fine job as the Darín character’s alcoholic assistant (127 min.).
