The Psychedelic Furs

When: Sat., Dec. 29, 8 p.m. 2007

With their biggest hits -- namely "Pretty in Pink," "Love My Way," and "The Ghost in You" -- now passing the quarter-century mark, new wave pioneers the Psychedelic Furs are ripe for Generation X nostalgia. Last October saw the unnecessary release of Best of the Psychedelic Furs (it's at least their eighth retrospective, and fourth this decade), while frontman Richard Butler stirred talk of an artistic rebirth with his solo debut in 2006. The Furs themselves won't be going anywhere new without new music, but intermittent live shows since reuniting for a tour in 2000 prove their aging material still has an audience. Saturday, Dec. 29 at Mezzanine with Kings & Queens and Skip and Shindog. 8 p.m, $30. MezzanineSF.com
