When: Wed., July 27, 6 p.m. and Sat., July 30, 6 p.m. 2011

Joining forces to explore the effects of disconnection, the always innovative AXIS Dance Company and Dandelion Dancetheater question love, fate, and social media in The Dislocation Express on four evenings between Sunday and next Saturday, July 24-30. The physically integrated group performs choreography by Dandelion's Eric Kupers and Kimiko Guthrie on platforms, plazas, and trains, accompanied by live folk music and Guthrie's poetry. Act I begins at 6 p.m. at the Ed Roberts Campus, above the Ashby BART station (3100 Adeline St., Berkeley); at 6:45 p.m., ride BART with the performers to a new station for Act II (Walnut Creek, Sun. and Fri.) and Act III (Powell St., Wed. and Sat.), which start at 7:45 p.m. Download the MP3 for music, poetry, and flash-mob instructions if you'd like to take part. Meet the cast after the Friday performance at Pyramid Alehouse (1410 Locust St., Walnut Creek). 8:40 p.m., free (supply your own BART tickets). 510-625-0110 or
