The Cure

When: Wed., May 28, 7:30 p.m. 2008

Leave it to the Cure to turn the basic process of releasing an album on its head. With the band's major domo Robert Smith grappling with lyrics, the band pushed back its tour as well as the release of the band's untitled thirteenth album until September. Instead, they're releasing the project incrementally. Starting with the May 13 release of The Only One, the Cure will release subsequent singles on the thirteenth of every month until the full, double-CD comes out on September 13. In the meantime, with the departure of keyboardist Roger O'Donnell, Smith and his lean, mean quartet will be hitting the Bay Area on Wednesday, May 28 at HP Pavilion (525 West Santa Clara St., San Jose).7:30 p.m., $35-$60.

Dave Gil de Rubio

Price: $35-$65
