Muckraking documentary takes us to Taiji, Japan, where the commercial imperatives of the worlds marine theme park business and the Japanese seafood market have created a killing zone for dolphins lured into a cove where the unlucky ones not chosen for show business are slaughtered en masse by the local fisherman. Naturally the fishermen are unhappy that filmmaker Louis Psihoyos and actor Rick OBarry are capturing their dirty deeds on video, so theres lots of drama. Is it another example of Outrage Porn? Maybe. Its nevertheless an exciting piece of advocate documentary. Written by Mark Monroe (92 min.).
