The 26th Jewish Music Festival

Yemen Blues, a rare mix of Hebrew and Arabic mixed with blues, jazz, funk and West African grooves opens the 26th Jewish Music Festival Saturday, March 5th at Freight and Salvage in Berkeley. The 8 pm Opening Night show is SOLD OUT. A second 10:30 pm show has just been added. Other Festival highlights through March 13th include the Ger Mandolin Ensemble, directed by mandolin wizard Mike Marshall, and a dozen top players; Odessa / Havana — a klezmer, Cuban celebration; Veretski Pass with leading artists of the world klezmer scene, Noah Bendix-Balgley, a violin virtuoso showcasing Russian Jewish music and a finale dance party.
