The 19th Annual Animation Show of Shows

When: Dec. 8-14 2017

Since 1998, the Animation Show of Shows has been sharing wonderfully produced animated short films, including 10 that won Academy Awards. Ron Diamond, who is a producer and founder of the Show of Shows, began by presenting the animations to production studios and art schools, but in 2015 opened it up to the public. Now, for its third year, the Animation Show of Shows will bring another round of heartfelt films to theaters, featuring 16 shorts about one’s role in society from illustrators around the world. A few highlights include “Dear Basketball” by Glen Keane, who worked for Disney, and “Next Door” and “Casino” by Pete Docter, who is an Academy Award winner and Pixar director. So, grab your popcorn and candy, because the 19th Annual Animation Show of Shows — which will screen at the Grand Lake Theatre from Dec. 8 to Dec. 14 — will make you feel like a kid again (at least for a couple hours).
