We’ve seen this one before: An exiled city policeman gets assigned to a village in the middle of nowhere and has to contend with surly inhabitants who are hiding a guilty secret. Danish director/co-writer Henrik Ruben Genz fools around with atmosphere and the ominous bog outside town, but his scenario (adapted with Dunja Gry Jensen from Erling Jepsen’s novel) is mostly just a collection of odd faces looking for something to do. Starring Jakob Cedergren as the cop, Lene Maria Christensen as the horny housewife, and Kim Bodnia as her husband, the town bully (90 min.).
