Known for his diplomatic and conscious lyricism, Talib Kweli boasts a real-talk rap style — the world needs more music like it. In the late ’90s, the Brooklyn emcee released Reflection Eternal with Hi-Tek as producer. The two went on to work with rapper Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) and collaborated on a project under the group name Black Star. Although Talib Kweli’s forte is to spit against political injustices, he mixes it up with some uplifting tracks, such as fan-favorite “Never Been in Love.” Leading up to his softly sung chorus, he raps: Dancing alone because she extra fly / But I got good look so I catch her eye / Gave the rest a try now give the best a try / Leave your nest and I’ll fly make you testify / Damn baby I know we got some haters and. In 2010, he founded his own record label, Javotti Media, which creates space for go-getters. Friday, Jan. 18, 8 p.m., $44-99, Yoshi’s, 510 Embarcadero West, Oakland,
