When: Wed., Dec. 15, 1:30-6 p.m. and Thu., Dec. 16, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. 2010

Holy wars are nothing new, and show no sign of vanishing soon. How do spiritual beliefs affect the dynamics and outcomes of war? In Room 223 of UC Berkeley's Moses Hall, a conference called Religion in the Armed Forces brings together scholars to lecture on these issues on Thursday, Dec. 16. Amit Ahuja, Christine Fair, Aysegul Komsuoglu, and Mahsa Rouhi will discuss religious-spiritual dynamics in India, Pakistan, Turkey, and Iran, respectively. 9 a.m., free. IIS.Berkeley.edu
