Roll 'em up: Learn to make sushi and sashimi during a sushi class at Paulding & Co. (1410 D 62nd St., Emeryville) on Sunday, Aug. 26. Tokyo-trained sushi chef KazMatsune, who has worked at Ozumo, will discuss and demonstrate ingredient-shopping, knife skills, fish-slicing, and the preparation of nigiri, the California roll, and other classics.
