Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show

When: April 11-14 2013

"There is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats," wrote Kenneth Grahame in his 1908 classic The Wind in the Willows. And for anyone from the uber-novice to the weathered sailor, Thursday through Sunday, Apr. 11-14, may be just the time to indulge, at the Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show in Jack London Square (54 Washington St., Oakland). The show will feature new sailboats to explore, seminars on new sailing techniques, free sailboat rides, professional sailor-athletes on hand, and kids' activities including a climbing wall and a zip-lining arena. You'll have countless opportunities for "simply messing about in boats" -- and what could be better? 10 a.m.-6 p.m., see website for full schedule of events); $15 per day, free for children fifteen and under.
