Personal chef Stacey Morgenstern, who prepares staff meals at San Francisco's Rainbow Grocery Cooperative, where she is an owner-worker, hosts a workshop on sugar at Elephant Pharm (1607 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley). Morgenstern explains the chemistry of sugar cravings, what happens to the body when sugar enters it, and creative ways of cutting down on sugar while continuing to eat delicious, healthy meals -- including dessert.
