California kids who have never enjoyed the pleasures of snow can finally get a taste of what they’ve been missing at North Berkeley’s annual snow-themed festivity. The parking lot at Shattuck and Lincoln avenues (1673 Shattuck Ave.) will be transformed into a winter wonderland where you can make holiday crafts like greeting cards and dreidels while sipping on hot cider and playing in the manmade snow. Kids can visit the Snow Queen, ride ponies, and make snowballs with the elves as adults shop for gifts from craft vendors and listen to live music. Head to local jewelry store M. Lowe and Company (1519 Shattuck Ave.) to search for prizes inside snowballs made by owner Margo Lowe — if you’re lucky, you’ll pick the one with the real diamond ring inside.
