Devoted to counteracting the fast-food lifestyle, Slow Food is a member-supported national movement whose Berkeley chapter, founded by Alice Waters, is holding its annual open-to-the-public New Year's Potluck at the Bread Project Headquarters (1701 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley) on Saturday, Jan. 9. RSVP to, and bring a dish to share, utensils, and a plate. Noon, free.
