Currently being hailed as Great Britain's best chef, Simon Hopkinson is reintroducing millions to the pleasures of simple food with his book Second Helpings of Roast Chicken, a follow-up to his popular Roast Chicken and Other Stories. Join Hopkinson -- who was founding chef at Bibendum in London, and an award-winning food columnist for eight years -- for dinner at Rakestraw Books (409 Railroad Ave., Danville) on Oct. 23. 7 p.m., $25.
