Some of the most uplifting music comes from adversity and oppression, as Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars demonstrate with their irresistible blend of West African and roots reggae music. The band came together in Guinea refugee camps among those displaced from their embattled Sierra Leone homeland, as musicians found each other and put together music of peace and love to raise spirits. With an acclaimed debut CD out last year, the group is now on a world tour. They'll stop by Yoshi's (510 Embarcadero West, Oakland), on Tuesday, Feb. 12, where the floor will be cleared for dancing. 8 p.m., 10 p.m., $20, $14. Yoshis.com or 510-238-9200.
