Show and Tell Oakland Pride Kickoff Party

When: Thu., Aug. 28, 7-10 p.m. 2014

Pride is pretty great, but it’s even better with pre- and post-parties sandwiching the goodness. Streetwear boutique Show and Tell Concept Shop (1427 Broadway, Oakland) will be kicking off the festivities with a party on Thursday, August 28 that boasts drinks and dancing. Show and Tell, which is attached to Betti Ono Gallery, has been celebrating its pride since June with a series of events called Queery. It all concludes at the end of August, so the party will also be one of the last chances to check out two of Queery’s main draws: “Beaus and Belles Pop Up Shop: A Qwear Style Experience,” and Boi/Butch: Portraits of Masculine of Center Identity. The latter is a photo exhibition by Meg Allen and Miki Vargas that has been covering the walls of the boutique with portraits that highlight the beauty of female masculinity. Model, Oakland native, and star of MTV’s Real World: Ex-Plosion Ari Fitz will be hosting the night’s merry mingling.
