Writer-director Robert Rodriguez is truly a kid at heart, as evidenced by his repeated forays into children's movies like the Spy Kids series and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. His unparalleled imagination now delivers unto theaters Shorts, so named because of the series of vignettes involving the kids of Black Falls, Texas, and their misadventures with a rainbow-colored stone that grants wishes. The result: booger monsters, alien slaves, and baby sisters with ESP. Oh, and a whole lot of (admittedly pointless and unsubstantial) fun for the whole family. Shorts wont turn into a classic, but your elementary kids will have a blast (89 min.).
