Oakland native, singer-songwriter, and percussionist Sheila E is turning 60, and she’s celebrating this milestone at the Paramount Theatre. The musical icon will bring along a stellar group to celebrate onstage with her: George Clinton, Freddie Stone, The E Family, and others to be announced. Daughter of Latinx jazz percussionist Pete Escovedo, Sheila E climbed her way to stardom by playing with the likes of Lionel Richie, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, and the incomparable Prince. She has continued to perform and record; her latest album, Iconic Message 4 America, is a collection of mostly political cover songs.
