SF Symphony Strike Continues, March 15 Concert Cancelled

As reported on Wednesday, musicians of the San Francisco Symphony are on strike after failing to reach contract negotiations with symphony management. Tonight's performance of Mahler's Ninth Symphony has been canceled, and tickets can be exchanged or refunded.

According to a press release issued by the symphony, talks will continue today following Thursday's marathon thirteen-hour negotiation session. Check the Symphony's website for updates on the Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17 performances.

According to the Chron, the last musicians' strike at the Symphony, during the 1996-97 season, resulted in a nine-week break with 43 concerts cancelled and millions lost in revenue.
