Does Oakland have such low self-esteem that the Tribune thinks a few luxury condos for sale is huge news? Attention readers: if you’ve got about $1 million to blow, seven condos in the Cathedral Building at Broadway and Telegraph have just gone on the market. The Trib puts its game face on and suggests that the sale, along with the Fox Theater renovation and a few new restaurants, is evidence of a resurgent Uptown scene. Frankly, we’ve got better things to do than get gushy over the fact that a few rich jerks would like to live in units that “have private entrances and feature luxury finishes that include hardwood maple floors, white walls and huge windows that offer stunning views.”
