The U.S. Census now says that San Pablo, one of our favorite cities in the East Bay, has a Latino majority; this is the first city in Contra Costa County in which people of Latin American descent constitute a majority of the population. According to the Contra Costa Times, Latinos now make up some 53.8 percent of the population. We’ve always had a soft spot in our hearts for the tough little suburb; read our overwritten love song for the burg here, if you’re interested. So we’re delighted to see it keeping its muy caliente character going strong.
