Rock Make Street Festival

When: Sun., Aug. 24, 11 a.m. 2008

Yes, we know that other humongous festival is going on at the same time, but in case you don't have a handy $85 lying around but still wanna get your kicks, check out the freeRock Make Street Festival. Held in the Mission district (between 17th and 18th sts., San Francisco) on Sunday, Aug. 24, the street fair will features bands and dozens of craft vendors mingling all day under the summer sun. And the lineup of local bands is pretty stellar: TrainwreckRiders, Tartufi, and Low Red Land are among those that will perform on two stages. While you're at it, browse the locally made handcrafted goodies. You've got nothing to lose. Noon.Myspace.com/rockmakestreetfestival
