Rick's Supper Club

Chef-owner Rick Hackett’s first-Thursday-of-the-month multi-course feasts at Bocanova (55 Webster St., Oakland), aka Rick’s Supper Club, will take a traditional holiday tack on Thursday. Wild-boar terrine with pumpkin harks back to medieval English Christmas boar-head dinners. Other hearty wintertime courses will include steamed mussels with house-made chorizo and grilled pork loin with pickled cabbage. The restaurant’s sommelier, Gerardo Acevedo, and wine-club director, David Fetcho, will pair each course with specially chosen wines, and the festive evening will culminate with chef Paul Conte’s bacon-waffles-butter-pecan ice cream and house-made chocolates.
