Grieving the very recent loss of her father after a short 6 month cancer battle, Julianne Sterling has found it challenging to focus and to make artwork. During these difficult months, she decided to try some drawing. Working with the simplicity of graphite and a beautiful piece of paper were soothing to her. Influenced by Wallace Stegner’s novel, "Angle of Repose", these drawings are Sterling’s attempt to find her own “angle of repose,” the maximum slope at which loose solid material will remain in place without sliding. Here’s to not sliding.
