Ray Kurzweil

When: Sat., April 13, 8 p.m. 2013

Regardless of your opinions on our increasingly technology-enmeshed future, this much is clear: Ray Kurzweil is going to have something to do with it. The current director of engineering at Google is outspoken about his futurist stance on everything from artificial intelligence to life extension to the ever-ineffable "singularity," and while some of his forecasts are criticized as being the stuff of sci-fi, the dude is nothing if not forward-thinking. Join Kurzweil at UC Berkeley's Zellerbach Hall (across from The Musical Offering, 2430 Bancroft Way) on Saturday, Apr. 13, as part of the university's "Strictly Speaking" series, for a chance to hear the man Forbes called "the ultimate thinking machine" preach his vision of our shared future. 8 p.m., $18-$36. 510-642-9988 or CalPerfs.Berkeley.edu
