If you care about gender equity and beer — and you should — then you definitely must represent for the Pink Boots Society, because its mission is to raise much-needed funds to expand career opportunities for women in brewing. This means scholarships at places where you can learn how to brew, such as maybe UC Davis, and other educational training. It’s a crucial nonprofit — because we all know there are just too many dudes in the beer industry. Anyway, The Rare Barrel will debut a special collaboration beer with Pink Boots this Friday, March 31. All the proceeds that evening will benefit the cause, and a dollar from every pour of the beer at the tasting room thereafter will go to the nonprofit, as well. Oh, about the beer: called Solidarity Forever, it is a blend of golden sours that have been aged on oak, with rose petals, chamomile, coriander — tasty, for sure.
