In case you missed last week’s fund-raiser for the documentary film project Beats, Rhymes and Life, check out some photos. Filmmaker Kerri Gawryn reports that the night was a success and she was able to raise enough funds to obtain a $10,000 challenge grant from the East Bay Community Foundation in order to finish editing the film. The documentary follows nine students who participated in Beats, Rhymes & Life, a hip-hop therapy program based out of Oakland High School. To read more, go here.
