Ex-State Senator Don Perata was on the witness stand yesterday – and, no, it didn’t have anything to do with his public corruption case. The Don was testifying against the man who allegedly carjacked him last year. Jared Adams, 26, is on trial for stealing Perata’s candy apple red Dodge Charger at gunpoint in North Oakland. Authorities say Adams wanted the car’s tricked out, 22-inch rims. Adams is also on trial for firing the shot that paralyzed a 10-year-old boy while he was playing piano. Perata, however, could not identify Adams in court. “No, I was looking at the gun,” he said, when asked if he saw the gunman’s face, according to Trib.
