People's Park Tree-Sit Over. Trees Down

Berkeley's latest tree-sit ended hours after it started, as two protesters agreed to come down from two People's Park acacias they had occupied to protect them from the axe. According to the Berkeley Daily Planet, "community members" talked the last guy down yesterday, and university arborists got to work and slashed those two diseased acacias into little bits. The last tree-sitter was chased down a few blocks away, and given a ticket by the cops.
