Haunted houses used to be the creepiest thing you could experience at the movies. Today, theyve been replaced by the haunted spaceship thanks to three decades of filmmakers doing their best to recreate Alien. Pandorum is no different; the derelict spaceship this time out is the Elysian, a colony ship packed with some 60,000 occupants kept in hyper-sleep. When officer Bower (Ben Foster) wakes unexpectedly, he and another early-riser (Dennis Quaid) decide to restart the Elysians nuclear reactor. Unfortunately, the long trek to the heart of the ship, filled with plenty of the requisite dank, grated hallways, is blocked by creepy mutants wearing armor stolen from The Road Warrior. Who these freaks are constitutes Pandorums mystery, which is as underwhelming as the repetitive scares (108 min.).
