Palace of Fine Arts

Hours: hours vary

San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts Theater is an elegant and posh setting for catching some of the most happening events in arts and entertainment in the city, including comedy, music, dance, fashion shows, and lectures. Housed in the historic Palace of Fine Arts – which was built in 1915 for the Panama Pacific Exposition by Berkeley architect Bernard Maybeck – the theater, which was built in 1970, seats about 1,000 and provides an engaging environment for the entertainment onstage.
